
Head Consul Alejandra Bologna, holds a degree in International Relations from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1985 and is a career member of the Mexican Foreign Service. She was promoted to Ambassador in 2006.
She has served as Consul General of Mexico in San Jose, California (2019-2025), Ambassador of Mexico to Panama (2011-2015), Consul General of Mexico in Milan, Italy (2009-2010), and Consul General of Mexico in Sacramento, California, United States of America (2004-2009). She was also in charge of Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Mexico in Italy (1993-2000) and at the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles (2000-2004), among other positions.
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she served as an analyst and Department Head in the then Directorate General for Africa, Asia, and the Middle East (1985-1990), as Department Head and Private Secretary in the Directorate General for the Pacific (1990-1993), and as Private Secretary in the Directorate General for Consular Affairs (1993). She also held the positions of Special Advisor in the Undersecretariat for Latin America and the Caribbean (2015), Advisor in the General Coordination of Advisors (2015-2016), Deputy Director General for Foreign Missions in the Directorate General of Protocol (2016-2018), and Special Advisor in the Office of the Chief Clerk (currently the Administration and Finance Unit) in 2018-2019, addressing issues related to the resource needs of Mexico’s diplomatic missions abroad.
Since August 18, 2025, Ambassador Alejandra Bologna has served as head of the Career Consulate of Mexico in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
